davidmcgannjvk Reels Engine
A private Windows application for browsing your own Pinterest boards and sharing the pictures that brighten someone's day — always as a link back to the original Pin.
What it does
Reels Engine is a desktop tool built and used by one person: its owner. After the owner connects their own Pinterest account, the application displays the boards and Pins that account has saved, so the owner can look through them in one place.
When the owner finds a picture worth passing on, the application shares it the way Pinterest intends: by sending the link to the original Pin. The friend opens it on Pinterest, where the creator who made the image gets the credit and the visit.
The purpose is simple — to make it easy to send good, cheerful pictures to people who will enjoy them, without taking anything away from whoever created them.
Pinterest permissions requested
boards:readRead the list of boards saved by the account owner.pins:readRead the Pins saved by the account owner within those boards.
These are the only permissions requested. The application does not create, schedule, edit or delete Pinterest content, and does not post on the owner's behalf.
What it does not do
Nothing is downloaded
Pin images are displayed while the application is open and are never saved to disk. Closing the application discards them.
Nothing is stored
No board or Pin information is written to any file, folder, spreadsheet or database. There is no local collection and no cloud database.
Nothing is re-made
Pins are never edited, combined, exported, or turned into new content such as slideshows, videos or posts on other platforms.
Always credited
Sharing sends the original Pin's link, so the image is always viewed on Pinterest with its creator's attribution intact.
Who runs it
Reels Engine is built and operated by David McGann (davidmcgannjvk) as a personal, non-commercial tool. It is not distributed publicly and is not offered as a service to other users.
